PA259 Ecclesiastes 9:7-10:20 mp3

In this message, Solomon continues to access what is valuable under the sun. He advises his readers to live joyfully with the wife they love and to do their work with their strength. The race is not always to the swift or the battle to the strong, since time and chance happen to all. A poor but wise man saved a little city with his wisdom, but the city later forgot him. Thus wisdom proves better than strength, but no one remembers the wise poor man. Even a little folly spoils a man. It is worse when a ruler is foolish, and sets foolish men in charge. A fool is most destructive. A land is sad when its rulers are fools. Yet one should not curse the king, for word of such things has a way of getting around.
