In this message, we continue our consideration of the first chapter of Revelation. Once the Divine Author, the Lord Jesus Christ, finishes His introduction, we have the introduction of the human author, John. We learn that John was in the Spirit on the Lord’s Day, and we discuss the meaning of this, and how it affects our outlook on the entire book of Revelation. What John saw of the Lord Jesus Christ.

There are some out there who insist that Christmas is not a Godly holiday. Instead, they claim that it is really a pagan holiday, and the traditions associated with it are all pagan. Others make Christmas out to be a high religious holiday with great benefits for any Christian who keeps it. In this message, we examine both these ideas. Is one better in the sight of God for keeping Christmas? Or is Christmas pagan, and anyone who celebrates it is committing a sin? What should a believer conclude about Christmas?

In this message, the Lord prays for unity among not only His disciples, but also those who would believe on Him through their word. Was His prayer answered, or are we causing it to fail? Then, beginning the book itself, we consider the two Authors, the Lord Jesus Christ and the man John, and the introductory statements found in the first chapter.

In this message, we continue the Lord’s teaching to His disciples between the last supper and the garden of Gethsemane. The Spirit would give them the words that the Lord could not give them yet. A little while and they would not see Him, and then again a little while and they would see Him. This confuses the disciples, but the Lord answers their question even without them asking Him. He speaks of their coming sorrow that will turn into joy.

In this message, we consider John 17, and the prayer the Lord made to His Father. Why I call this the “real Lord’s Prayer.” The Lord asks for glorification. Then, He prays for His disciples. We consider what He wanted for them as He was about to leave them.

II Timothy Series 8

Paul lists those of his closest followers and entourage who sadly had forsaken him. He urges Timothy to join him as soon as possible. He warns him against Alexander the Coppersmith. No one stood with Paul at his first defense. What defense was he making, and before whom? The Lord was with Paul, and will continue to deliver him. Paul sends greetings, and urges Timothy to come before winter. Does this indicate a Paul who expected to die soon? Finally, his last words, leaving us with grace. So we close the last of Paul’s inspired writings, and what I believe was the last book written of the Bible.
